After School Program
The After School Program offers a variety of educational and enrichment activities and nutritional snacks for a $160 monthly fee per child. Children attending under the ASES funding qualify for a scholarship. The program is held on site at Isla Vista Elementary School and is open during the school year from 2:50pm to 6:00pm. Daily homework assistance and reading time is structured into the curriculum and all activities align with state standards. Lessons cover subjects such as; Mathematics, Science, Language Arts, Nutrition & Fitness, and Fine Arts. Students also have the opportunity for additional library time and computer lab access weekly. Additional tutoring time is provided to those children who need extra assistance completing their schoolwork.
On average, about 95% of the students enrolled in the program received a satisfactory grade or higher in homework on their report card and improve on other areas. Additional enrichment activities such as drama, sports, karate, art, music and other various after school "clubs" are available.
